CATLab

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how CATLab, operated by The Logic Circle, collects, uses, and protects your personal data, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act").

1. Data we collect

  • Account data: your name, email address, and optional profile details (such as city and target CAT year).
  • Usage data: your practice attempts, bookmarks, notes, forum activity, and preferences — used to power your dashboard and personalise practice.
  • Payment data: processed by our payment gateway. We store subscription status and transaction references, not your full card details.
  • Technical data: limited log data such as IP address and browser type, used for security and to prevent abuse.

2. How we use your data

We use your data to provide and improve the Platform: to run your account, track your practice, deliver premium features you subscribe to, send essential service emails, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.

3. Legal basis

We process your data on the basis of your consent (given when you create an account and use the Platform) and for the legitimate purposes of operating the service, as permitted under the DPDP Act.

4. Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us run CATLab — such as our hosting, database, email, and payment providers — and only to the extent needed to deliver the service. We may disclose data where required by law.

5. Retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is erased (see "Your rights" below). We retain a minimal, anonymised deletion record — for example a one-way hash of your email and the fact and time of deletion — for legal-defence and fraud-prevention purposes, as permitted under the DPDP Act.

6. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • access and correct your personal data (from your account settings);
  • withdraw consent and delete your account at any time — self-service, from your account settings, which permanently erases your personal data; and
  • raise a grievance about how your data is handled.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information and to limit who can access it.

8. Children

CATLab is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children below the age at which parental consent is required without appropriate consent.

9. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when published on this page.
